Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapists can play an important role in the school team providing support to teachers and students to ensure that students with specific needs are well supported.

Occupational Therapy services can be used to meet the specific and individual needs of students with disabilities that affect what they can achieve. An OT can support a student’s well-being, participation and success across many aspects of school life from building skills for concentration, fine and gross motor skills, and support behavioural needs.

How we provide services

Our services are delivered online and can be provided in three key ways:

Assessment and Therapy

Schools can refer a student to to seek assessment and/or therapy during school hours or outside of school hours in the student’s home.

Whole School Programs

We can support schools by providing the following OT services:

  • specific individual needs
  • small groups

Consultancy

We can support school-based Additional Education Needs teams and wider teaching staff, by providing the opportunity of staff to ask questions regarding student concerns and how to support learning. This is achieved through:

  • Planning evidence-based interventions
  • Teacher mentoring
  • Contributing to school level policy input

Schools can purchase additional hours to be used across a term or on a one-off basis.
